Over 20 NGOC runners travelled to Hampshire this weekend for the 2022 British Long-Distance Orienteering Championships. This finally took place at Golden Valley & Cognor Wood, having been originally scheduled in 2020, the week the first Covid lockdown hit!
Courses were long and challenging as promised (up to 16.6km for M21 Elite) in a mixture of terrain. NGOC’s top championship results were two 6th places for Pete Ward (M50) and Rebecca Ward (W20). More importantly, everyone made it around (bar a mispunch or two) and generally seemed to enjoy it – the Spring sunshine was a great bonus.
