The JK (Britain’s biggest annual orienteering festival) is back after two years of Covid cancellations! Today’s event was the Sprint at Swansea University, and a bunch of NGOCers braved the M4 traffic to attend.
SBOC organised a great event: the fun and interesting courses mixed university campus with the neighbouring ornamental park.
All the results are available here.
Day 2 lookahead
Meanwhile, several NGOC members spent the day setting things up for tomorrow’s Middle-distance event at Clydach Terrace (which we’re leading on organising). Thanks to them for all their hard work – fingers crossed the weather is as kind as today!
British Orienteering awards
Breaking News: There were two NGOC winners in the annual British Orienteering volunteer awards.
- Pat Macleod won the Development & Innovation of the Year award, along with Peter Effeney, for all his work on MapRun.
- Greg Best won the Bonington trophy for his services to mapping over many years.
