NGOC at JK 2022: Day 2

NGOC at JK 2022: Day 2

The second day of the JK was the Middle-Distance event at Clydach Terrace, which attracted over 2000 runners to a day of orienteering for the first time in the UK since Covid. After a pleasant Friday in Swansea it was another warm sunny day: a particular relief on the exposed 300-400m hillside.

All the results are available here.

Thanks

As our designated day of the JK, many NGOC members doubled up running with helping, while others have been busy for the last few months masterminding the organisation and planning. Thanks to:

  • The organisers: Joe Parkinson, Andy Creber and Pat Macleod, who persevered when previous locations fell through to find a suitable venue in Clydach Terrace – and then made the logistics work!
  • Planner Richard Cronin for setting some enjoyable middle distance courses (all 22 of them!)
  • The event’s controller, Mike Forrest of BOK.
  • All the team leaders, and the army of volunteers who gave their time on the day (from NGOC and other clubs).
