Well done to Richard Cronin for getting closest to completing the whole course, with 27 out of the 30 controls. No doubt with some forward planning the full house might be possible. Likewise a most efficient run by Ros Taunton, heading the league results by a significant margin, collecting nearly 51 points per km run, against an average of around 40. Average scores earned on a course where all controls had the same value were not greatly different from those at Abbeydale, where points value per control varied, suggesting both consistent planning and, at least to me, maybe a sense that chasing the high pointer controls doesn’t always necessarily mean a better outcome!
