First of all Seth Lawson, Alexander and Zebedee Harlock-Askew, Jacob Reeves and Luke Miklausic beat allcomers in the Yvette Baker Shield Heat at Hanham to take us through to the Final. Then before the Final came around, the team headed off to the British Sprint Championships and emerged as Under 12 winners, with The Harlock-Askews and Kathryn Lyne on the podium this time. And then the Yvette Baker Shield Final was staged this last weekend, and NGOC triumphed again, on what looked like a pretty wet and miserable day! Huge congratulations to The Harlock-Askews (again), James and Hannah Agombar, and Thomas Dilley for taking the Shield by a mere 2 points from SBOC.
It appears that Forestry England and Britsih Orienteering have agreed some changes to the permissions and cost arrangements for orienteering on FE terrain, which should make it much easier for us to organise informal training sessions in the forest for both junior and senior club members, so when the dust settles and we fully understand what we can do, look out for more NGOC activities that will help us build on this success and maybe win more podium places for senios as well as juniors.
