Many thanks to Rob Finch, plus helpers, for the Western Night League finale at Crickley Hill. It was a pleasantly warm evening with great views (even in the dark) over Gloucestershire.

Huge congratulations to everyone who braved the wind and rain on Sunday to see us beat both BOK and DEVON and win our heat of the CompassSport Cup. There were noteworthy performances across the board, with the juniors doing extremely well, but strong representation on the scoreboard across all age classes; perhaps the first time for a long time that we have had scorers on all 12 courses. The final is on 14th September on sand dunes at South Gare, near Redcar, hosted by CLOK, so that promises to be a different experience and good fun. Save the date!

So if you want some sustenance after a hard race around Crickley Hill, you need to go the event details at https://www.ngoc.org.uk/event/wnl-2024-25-crickley/, before midnight on Sunday 2 March, scroll down to the Facilities section at the bottom, and add your meal order. Today we started up the NGOC 2025 League, with a cold but lovely day at Mallards Pike. Many thanks to The Tauntons for courses taking us around the ditch-free part of the area, and of course to all their helpers.

Further to the earlier post below, FE have now informed us of large exclusion zones covering most of the area, so this means the event is now infeasible. Hence, we will postpone until 11th October.

We have published a brief update to event details for Saturday’s league at Mallards Pike North. You can see the details here. The main item to take note of is the fixed entry and exit time windows. Please allow for these in your timetable for the day.

Entries close at midnight this Wednesday – 15th January – so if you haven’t already entered, head over to Fabian4 and do so now.

A brief note to say that we have temporarily closed entries for League 2 at Soudley Ponds, scheduled for Saturday 15 Feb, due to permission not being given by Forestry England. We are urgently looking at alternative dates and/or locations, and will update the website once we have a plan in place.

Note that League 1 at Mallards Pike on Saturday 18 January is unaffected, and entries are still open for this event, for which permission has been given.
