Over the summer we’re taking part in Active Gloucestershire’s Beat the Street campaign. As part of this, we have an informal series of events where we’ll meet up and collect Beat Boxes around Gloucester.
Our first event will start from Abbeydale Community Centre at 6:40pm this Thursday, 4 July.
Details
We’ve created some simple street-orienteering maps of the nearby areas (similar to the maps we use in our maprun series of events):
- East Gloucester: Barnwood, Abbeymead and part of Abbeydale
- Southeast Gloucester: Matson and Abbeydale
Unlike the official Beat the Street maps, these show all the footpaths so are useful for finding shortcuts! You can either print your own map before you come, or use one of the printed maps we’ll have available. Make sure you’ve picked up a Beat the Street card from one of the distribution points around Gloucester.
We’ll send people off for an hour: run in whichever direction you choose and visit as many Beat Boxes as possible, before returning back.
This is a free event, open to anyone who wants to come along (NGOC members and non-members all welcome).
