The results for today’s NGOC League event at Cleeve Hill are now available on the Results page or via these links.
Thanks to Samuel Taunton for organising and planning such an enjoyable event in the sun; to Paul Taunton for controlling; and to everyone who helped in advance and on the day.
- Our next League event is at May Hill on May Day (1 May).
- April will be a busy month in the meantime – we’re organising the Middle-Distance event at the 2022 JK Festival, and any help will be much appreciated!
Planner’s postscript
Each year, I’ve said to Greg I’d like to plan such and such, and I look forward to it until it gets to January and I seem to have done almost nothing! Fortunately, I did manage to pull it all together; volunteers, toilet, farmer, controls, B&B, sun… It was just a pity about the winds that blew! Great to see a similar number of entries as my event at Minchinhampton which was just before the first lockdown. Lots of representatives from NGOC, and other local clubs. We had one runner travel by train from SUFFOC!
Thanks to all those that helped, and sorry to Bob who did a sterling job parking but alas missed the finish on his course.
Great too to see some new faces, some might say that the top runners got round a bit quickly, but if it had been any further those lower down the list would have suffered.
Commiserations to one who folded their map too tightly and wondered why others were running down the hill when the next control was up the hill – a lesson learned, no doubt.
An apology that on Routegadget, control 59 is in the wrong place – I sent Paul B the wrong Purple Pen file and only noticed when somebody had put their route on (after which you can’t edit the background map, apparently)
Looking forward to the next!
Samuel
