We are pleased to announce a series of forest orienteering training activities which will run between now and Christmas, or maybe longer, if we can find areas and planners.
These will be maprun activities, featuring Orange, Green and Blue courses, available for 3 days every fortnight – Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The idea is that you can download map and control descriptions from here, and go and run the courses any time during the activity window. You are encouraged to pass the word around your friends and class competitors, and perhaps add some level of personal competition in the forest at a time when we are unable to organise anything more formal. You are, of course, trusted to adhere to government guidelines and rules on gathering and social distancing.
Further details will follow shortly, but the first activity will be on Mallards Pike, with parking at New Fancy car park, next weekend – 16-18 October 2020.
You will need the maprunF app on your phone. If you have not used maprunF before, go to the Getting Started page on the Maprun Gloucestershire website, and find out how to download and use it. Likewise, if you hae not used maprunF before, it is worth taking some time to check that you have it set up correctly on your phone, and that it’s working with the GPS service. There is information on the Getting Started page on how to do this.
