Results for Saturday’s event at Leckhampton are now published on the Results page.
Many thanks to Greg for planning and setting up the event, on what is an oddly shaped and consequently difficult to plan area. Thanks also to Old Pat’s for allowing us to park, and the use of their excellent facilities! Hopefully you found time to visit the bar or have some food.
Planner Greg comments:
Thank you all for coming to today’s event, which I hope you enjoyed. Happily, the weather gods were kind to us, which allowed for a nice outdoor post-run atmosphere, with people shopping at Compass Point, sitting at the tables eating and drinking Old Pat’s offerings and discussing the successes and failures of the day. The weather was even better at 4.30am this morning when I started to put out the controls and road signs!
The amount of summer growth took me somewhat by surprise, as I hadn’t visited any of the control sites since early March! I hope this didn’t spoil things too much. I wasn’t surprised to hear several people comment on the amount of uphill on a “Downhill Chase”. I did actually try to limit this, but it’s very difficult to avoid all together on this very steep and strangely shaped area.
As usual, many thanks are due to the myriad of helpers, who did a sterling job in proving that we can put on a successful event even when Pat is away!
The League now takes a pause until the next event in early August, but in the meantime there is our summer relay event, British Sprint Championships and CROESO – as well as several Mapruns – to help the summer pass quickly!
