Results for todays race around Chestnuts Hill and Green Bottom are now published on the Results page. Excellent planning by Caroline Craig meant that just one runner – Richard Mawer, BAOC – managed all controls, but at cost of a half-minute late. Lots of people nevertheless had good scores, and the high incidence of penalties for lateness could perhaps be put down in part to the going underfoot – very slippery in places and particularly difficult when contouring across the steeper slopes. James Clemence, SWOC, timed it best amongst the leaders coming in 13 seconds early for third place, with James Wilkinson and Reuben Lawson the best of NGOC, at 5th and 6th.
The cafe made a welcome re-appearance, especially Caroline’s biscotti, though the mulled wine left over from Chepstow MapRun proved equally unpopular, and is now substantially left over from NYD as well!
As ever, many thanks to all the helpers – Parking, registration, control collecting – with a special mention for Douglas Innes-Farr, SWOC, who oversaw download and made sure everything went smoothly in the computing hotseat.
Entries for our next events, middle distance and WNL at Edge on 15th January are now open, and entries for our SW Regional league race at Soudley on 30th January are now also live as of yesterday, so plenty to look forward to.
