Results from today’s league “Long Sprint” event at Dean Close School are now available on the Results page. Thanks to Samuel Taunton for his organising & planning, Tom Cochrane for the efforts to draw the new map, the school for the use of the grounds and buildings and all the other club members helping at the event.
Comments from the Organiser:
Thanks to those who came and ran at Dean Close, I really enjoyed organising the event. I’m sorry that a gate or two were closed during the event. Much as we had agreed on gates, there must’ve been other members of staff who closed them. One competitor was observed climbing over an uncrossable fence. This is obviously not allowed as they may have injured themselves and if they had been seen by a member of school staff we may have been prohibited from using the area again.
I’m happy to see the winning times were just about right for a sprint race. I’m glad the map turnover and exchange worked out well, thanks to the volunteers who reminded runners to take the right map. I’m also glad we had sufficient volunteers for me not to have to run round the controls for a third time in two days! So thanks very much to all the volunteers who helped out with the event.
