A new perspective
Orienteering at night brings an extra challenge: only being able to see as far ahead as your torch will light up! Our night events take place during the winter season, and start just after dusk. The format is a one-hour score event.
They form a part of the Western Night League: a series of around 9-10 events each winter, put on by NGOC and other nearby clubs.
Hints
- A bright head torch is a distinct advantage!
- It’s often best to take ‘safer’ routes at night than during the day, staying closer to paths and known features.
