For the first maprun of our Winter series, we’re in Ross-on-Wye. Note that this is a Wednesday event (as with most of our winter series this year – we’re aiming to avoid clashes with other events as much as possible).

Remember: it’ll be dark, so you need to bring a headtorch and visible/reflective clothing!
Directions and Parking
We’ll be meeting at Red Meadow Car Park in Ross-on-Wye, near the swimming pool. This has free parking after 6pm. Note there’s a height restriction of 2m – overheight vehicles should park at Homs Road (free) car park HR9 7DE and walk over.
Timings and Cost
Registration and starts will be open from 18:30 through to 19:00.
£5 seniors, £2 juniors
Please note that juniors(under 16) must be accompanied by an adult on this course.
Format
The race takes the form of a 60 minute score course, in which you collect as many points as you can. There are 30 checkpoints:
- checkpoints 1-10, worth 10 points
- checkpoints 11-20, worth 20 points
- checkpoints 21-30, worth 30 points
You lose 10 points for every minute or part minute you are late back, after the permitted 60. The map on your phone will be PIN protected, and you will be given the PIN, together with a paper map, a minute or two before the start.
Pub of the night
After the event we’ll gather in a nearby pub: probably The Mail Rooms (Wetherspoon) unless anyone has another suggestion on the evening.
