Results for Saturday’s event at Huntley are now published on the Results page.
Many thanks to Doug and Pat for planning and setting up the event, and for the usual team of helpers for their help in running the event – particularly the control collectors who did a second tour of the map on a very hot afternoon.
The times shown on the results may not match your printout. We have voided the legs into and out of control 188 on the Brown and Short Green courses. This is because the control was not present for portions of the event (more details below). Those who showed as “mispunch” for this control on the preliminary results should now have been reinstated. Hopefully this didn’t spoil your enjoyment of the event too much.
The full saga of control 188: It transpires that a party of Scouts at the campsite on Friday evening removed it, thinking it was a left over from some activity or other. We spotted this early on Saturday morning and replaced it before the event started, and during the morning we spoke to the people at the campsite to ask if they had any knowledge of its disappearance. They said none, but would look out for a ‘thrown away’ stake, and sadly found the replacement, which they put next to another control next to the campsite. Whilst quite a few of you were looking for it, Dougie Innes-Farr spotted it and put it back where it should have been. By then, though, quite a few had missed it, so we have voided the legs either side of that control on all affected courses.
